Anne Heche life support to be turned off: actress declared brain dead

Representatives for actress Anne Heche’s family and friends have announced that she has been formally certified brain dead following her catastrophic vehicle tragedy in Los Angeles and will be taken off life support.

According to Heche’s wishes, the actress, 53, will stay on a ventilator to evaluate if any of her remaining organs are suitable for donation.

They would like to appreciate all for their well wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery, as well as the committed staff and great nurses who tended for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital, a representative for her family stated.

Sadly, Anne Heche sustained a serious anoxic brain injury as a result of her tragedy and lies in a coma in critical condition. She is unlikely to survive.

They stated that becoming an organ donor has “always been her decision,” thus she will technically be alive until the examination is completed.

Anne had a great heart and impacted all she encountered with her giving nature, the statement read. More than her remarkable skill, she considered her life’s mission as imparting compassion and happiness, particularly shifting the needle for tolerance of who you love. She will be treasured for her brave sincerity and will be much missed for her light.

The actress, 53, was last believed to be in a coma battling for her life after ramming her car into a home at 90mph while ‘high on cocaine’ last Friday.

Following the fatal collision, cocaine was detected in Heche’s bloodstream, although officials determined that she had not been consuming alcohol, yet being seen with a vodka bottle in her cup holder.

She is in a bad state, a good friend of the actress stated. The intake of smoke is lethal. It will take a miracle for her to heal and emerge out of this coma.

The actress lost control of her automobile when it crashed into a house, igniting a fire that severely burnt her, leaving her in ‘very serious condition,’ according to her spokesperson.

It took 59 firemen 65 minutes to ‘reach, restrict, and entirely extinguish the tenacious flames’ created by Heche’s collision, according to reports.

She’ll remain in a coma for a long time, and there’s a chance she’ll die since her lungs don’t operate on their own, said an unidentified source.

Heche was videotaped being rescued from the awful scenario by firefighters, who covered her in a white towel to avoid infection from her serious burns before pulling the clothes off her as they loaded her into an ambulance.

Due to the wounds sustained on the woman inside the residence, Lynne Mishele, LAPD is treating the terrible collision as a potential crime, and sources informed that the actress was under the effects of cocaine. It’s unknown how serious Mishele’s wounds are.

According to her representative, Heche has major lung damage needing artificial breathing and burns that require surgical attention. She is in a coma and has not awakened since shortly after the accident, they stated.

Heche is being treated at the Grossman Burn Unit, which was created by Dr. Peter Grossman’s father. Rebecca Grossman, his wife, is accused of killing two boys, ages 11 and 8, when they were crossing a street with their parents in a designated crosswalk. She has entered a not guilty plea.

Earlier on Monday, newly released footage showed the minutes leading up to the collision in which Heche nearly killed a lady.

She was seen on camera rushing through an alleyway and just missing a person as she went along the sidewalk in the city’s Mar Vista neighborhood.

The woman, who has not been recognized, turned around in surprise as the blue Mini Clubman sped by shortly before 11 a.m. on Friday.

It comes as police sources say that Heche, who was hospitalized with horrible burns following the tragic collision, is expected to be examined.

A witness captured her in her blue Mini Clubman with a bottle with a red top on it, looking glassy-eyed, before the collision.

Meanwhile, additional photographs show the stunned homeowner watching her “entire lifetime of goods” burn after the tragic crash on Friday morning.

Lynne Mishele was snapped stunned as her life’s work burst in a blaze as the actress ripped through it at breakneck speed.

She was observed outside on the sidewalk with her hands in her pockets, stunned, while 59 firefighters tackled the massive flames, which took almost an hour to extinguish.

Heche slammed her Mini into a garage block before speeding away, smashing into a hedge, and ending up entirely immersed in Mishele’s home at 1766 South Walgrove Avenue.

Before the deadly incident at Mishele’s residence, footage shows Heche’s blue Mini Clubman hurtling down a tight alleyway at breakneck speed.

Despite a woman stepping over the exit onto the main road, she did not quickly brake, with the actress only hitting the pedal at the last moment.

The five-second film ends as the dazed pedestrian turns around to stare at the automobile as it speeds away into the distance.

Insiders claimed they had a warrant to collect her blood since they suspected she was inebriated, but the findings may take weeks.

They claimed the actress might face hit-and-run charges for the garage collision, in which she rapidly fled while being videotaped by stunned bystanders.

Prior to the incident, a slurring Heche joked on a podcast about drinking vodka with wine chasers, stating she was having a ‘very awful day.’

Her co-hosting show, Better Together, aired just hours before she smashed her car into the home. She and co-host Heather Duffy claim that Refined, a vodka distillery that sponsored one of their shows, provided them with free booze.

They each have a bottle in front of them because their friends got them a bottle of Refined, and she believes they even made a poor commercial for them back in the day.

Dr. Rahm suggested they should drink vodka instead of wine, Duffy says, adding, and they listened, and they’re drinking it.

Duffy then adds that they are drinking wine to chase down the vodka, before Heche says, ‘Today has been a pretty strange day.’

Certain days simply stink, and she doesn’t know whether one ever has them, but Mama says certain days are just going to be like this, she continues. Sometimes there are no good, extremely horrible days.

And she is not sure why certain days simply wind out this way, and things don’t really shake her like that.

She subsequently reported that she had a difficult week, describing how strangers disrupted her meditation at her flat. It’s unknown if the podcast was taped on Friday or aired on Friday.

Despite the claimed drinking on the podcast, Anne Heche was not under the effects of alcohol when she crashed the car.
