It’s amazing how the kindness of strangers can change a person’s day… or even life.
Cora is a special dog. That’s why Madison has her. She’s trained and certified as a therapy dog, and Madison loves her little corgi dog to pieces. She just seems to know what to do at the right times.
Earlier this year, 23-year-old Madison took Cora with her to the airport. They were flying from their home in Idaho to visit Madison’s mom in Alaska. But during a layover at the airport in Seattle, as Madison was sitting and waiting with Cora, the dog got up and wandered over to a man sitting a few seats away. And before Madison could open her mouth to get her dog back so she wouldn’t bother the man, that man had already started loving on the friendly little dog.
Madison politely asked if her dog was bothering him. With a somber face and watery eyes, the stranger replied “No, no. I lost my dog last night.”
Cora knew that man was troubled… she could sense it. So she wanted to stay with him just a few minutes more to be a comfort to him. And she certainly was.
Says Madison: “I truly think she has a gift. She knows who is hurting and she knows who needs her.”
And apparently, she does.
