Elizabeth Pule Arellano, 28 years old was murdered by her alienated hubby, Rodolpho Arellano. He knotted concrete around her neck and flung her from a bridge.
The family of Elizabeth challenged Rodolpho in court to share how his act of cruelty had incessantly changed their lives and the lives of his and her four children.
Alejandra Pule, the sister of Elizabeth, said to Rodolpho in court that he abducted her sister, sexually abused her and then threw her away in the lake like nothing. Alejandra said that her family trusted and cared for him but he betrayed them all. She said that her sister was everything to her.
Elizabeth was found lifeless in Lake Worth after fishermen described seeing something falling 40 feet from the Interstate 820 Bridge. The mother of four was still alive when she fell to her death and onlookers reported hearing yells as she fell. A rope still attached to Elizabeth’s neck was linked to a 119-pound chunk of concrete.
Elizabeth, a medical associate, had gone out with co-workers the night before her murder and called a co-worker to say that she made it back all right to her parents’ house. But then early the next morning her mother discovered her daughter’s car abandoned with her cell phone and purse on the passenger seat and no signs of Elizabeth. Her well-wishers instantly recognized that something was not right but by the time they informed her lost, Elizabeth’s body had by now been found. When her body was pulled from the lake, she was still wearing her maroon medical scrubs.
Elizabeth’s estranged husband told police that he was home the night of the killing and for a month he assumed the role of a grief-stricken widower.
Elizabeth’s other sister, Johanna Pule, told Rodolpho in a Tarrant County courtroom that he knew what he did, yet he stood in front of her sister’s dead body crying with her. She remembered being tasked with the macabre chore of shopping for the neckline in which her sister would be buried, as the rope marks left around her throat needed to be covered.
But detectives swiftly zeroed in on Rodolpho after investigation video and cell phone data placed him near his parents-in-law’s home at the time of Elizabeth’s vanishing. Investigators also discovered bits of concrete in Arellano’s back yard and pickup truck similar to what was used to weigh down Elizabeth.
Rodolpho appealed to have had nothing to do with Elizabeth’s demise but last week he pleaded guilty to capital murder to evade the death penalty. He in its place will spend the rest of his life in jail.
Elizabeth and Rodolpho were high school darlings. They finished 12 years together before splitting the week before Elizabeth’s demise. They had four children together now ages 7, 10, 12 and 14.
Alejandra said of her nephews and niece that she had to tell them that their father, the person who should have been their guardian, actually murdered their mother.
Elizabeth’s 7-year-old son said that he just don’t want to talk about his father. He said that he killed his mother and misses his mother. Elizabeth’s 10-year-old son said he once thought that his father didn’t do it. But now that he knew the fact, he just wants to know why her mother is taken away from him. Elizabeth’s 12-year-old daughter said it wasn’t reasonable that Rodolpho’s family could visit him in jail when the kids are unable to see their mother, while her 14-year-old son said he had nothing to say to his father.
