While travelling in the back of her father’s automobile, a 7-month-old infant was shot and dead. The baby’s family is now heartbroken and lamenting the death of their newborn girl.
As indicated by authorities, Desire Hughes was in a car with her father, 20-year-old Jeremiah Hughes, on Wednesday night. According to Toledo police, that’s when gunshots flew at his automobile from another vehicle. The infant girl was hit in the chest and died at the hospital.
Despite being brushed by a bullet, Jeremiah is in fine physical condition after being treated and discharged. However, the dad is currently dealing with an unspeakable tragedy.
The Toledo Police Department posted a photo of the deceased newborn on Twitter.
Carla Glover, a relative of the newborn expressed that it kills them just knowing that this kid is gone. It stings to know that this little baby is no longer with them. It just doesn’t make sense. She does not know enough about it to realize that infants are dying at the hands of firearms. And it isn’t firearms. It is the adults behind the firearms that are killing the children.
On Thursday night, a vigil was arranged for the child’s family and the whole town to grieve her death. The suspects are being sought by Toledo police, who are requesting anybody with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
This is heartbreaking! Rest in peace baby girl.
