The birth of these ‘tridentical’ triplets overcame chances of 200 million to one – an identical set of three siblings is nearly unheard of.At 34 weeks, Thomas, Edward, and Harry Chalwin were born by Caesarean section weighing only 4lbs apiece.
The children had to utilize stomach feeding tubes for the first three weeks of their lives after being delivered at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire.
Claire, a former nurse, expressed she had to paint their fingernails various colors at first to distinguish them.Claire, 33, explained it was tricky in the beginning phases, which is the reason she thought of the color coding concept. She would apply it once a week to guarantee they always knew which was whose. Now she has no issue distinguishing them.
She and her husband Paul, a recruitment specialist, were desperate for a sibling for their three-year-old son William after a devastating miscarriage last June when they found they were pregnant triplets.
A normal pregnancy has a 4,000 to one chance of producing triplets. A matching set is nearly unheard of.
She continued saying that they are a fantastic gift, she adores them all, and feels extremely lucky.
