Assuming you’re a fanatic Friends fan, you probably remember the show better than Courteney Cox – and she starred in it! In a recent interview, the 57-year-old performer said that she scarcely remembered working on the set of Friends, despite the fact that it was shot over a decade ago.
Cox, who portrayed Monica Geller on the famous sitcom, discovered her “poor memory” while prepping for the reunion special, which aired on HBO Max in May. She admitted that she should have watched all ten seasons because when she did the reunion and was asked things, she was like, she didn’t remember being there. She does not recall recording that many episodes before.
The Scream actress also stated that when she watches the episode again, there are sequences that she has no recollection of filming. “I watch it on TV occasionally and think, ‘Oh my God, I don’t remember this at all,'” she said. “But it’s so amusing.” Cox, on the other hand, had one recollection with her Friends co-stars that she will always remember.
Before Friends became a worldwide sensation, director Jim Burrows gifted each of her castmates $500 during a vacation to Las Vegas. He urged that he want you to take care, like, truly take heed of this moment as it will be the last time all six of you can walk through a casino together. ‘Really?’ they wondered. And that was correct. They could never do that again.
Cox concluded that she does not want to seem like, ‘Look at us.’ They are not the Beatles. People, however, have the impression that they know you. If they all walked down the street, six of us, she believed that would be incredibly intriguing to people. The Friends reunion special, fittingly named “The One Where They Get Back Together,” provided evidence.
It is projected that 29 percent of U.S. streaming households watched the Friends special on HBO Max, which was just 3% fewer than the amount of people that saw the eagerly awaited blockbuster picture Wonder Woman 1984. The special also shattered records in the United Kingdom, where it was seen by 5.3 million homes on the Sky One network.
During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in May 2021, the Cougar Town actress described the reunion as “unimaginable” and “very sentimental.” She continued that it’s an unplanned reunion, but all of them got to be on Stage 24 for the first time and she does not know how many years – 15 years? “Seventeen years?” she inquired. She has a terrible memory. Everything that she had forgotten about came up. But it was fantastic. It was a lot of fun. It was amazing since they had a lot of nice surprises. It truly was.
