This week, an Ohio woman, 30, was arrested on suspicion of raping a 12-year-old kid at her house over the weekend.
On Sunday, Kimberly Mae Polachek was apprehended and charged with two charges of rape and two counts of abduction, according to the authorities. Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman issued a statement saying that on Sunday, July 24, 2022, officers from the Portsmouth Police Department emailed his office with a frightening information about a probable sexual abuse involving a young victim. The tip came from “a concerned citizen.”
According to reports, Sgt. Jodi Conkel launched an investigation into Polachek and the alleged sexual assault after consulting with the chief prosecutor for the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.
According to investigators, they found the victim’s parents and promptly recognized the future victim. The victim’s parents said they were unaware of any sexual abuse that may have occurred concerning their son when they were questioned about it. In addition, the victim’s parents revealed to authorities that they believed their 12-year-old son had spent the previous night at a friend’s residence.
The victim’s mom allegedly got in touch with the victim’s buddy after learning that her son had not spent the night there.
After that, detectives ”promptly responded” to Polachek’s residence in Portsmouth’s 1900 block of Thomas Avenue. Officials claimed that Polachek was discovered and arrested without incident after arriving at the location. The young victim was later discovered by investigators asleep inside of her residence. Authorities stated that the victim was sent to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment.
According to the statement, Sheriff Thoroughman added the investigation found that Polachek would have sexual contact with this child and permit him to ingest marijuana while her husband was at work.
Both of the alleged rape offenses against Polachek are crimes in the first degree. According to the sheriff’s office, one of the kidnapping counts she is facing is a first-degree felony and the other is a second-degree felony.
The Scioto County Jail is where Polachek is now detained. Her bail was set by a court at $400,000. She will show up in Portsmouth Municipal Court on July 26 as of right now.
According to a source “with knowledge of the family’s predicament,” Polachek, a reputed “TikTok Mom,” just received her young kids back from Child Protective Services. The kids will now stay at home with their dad, according to the source, who said that CPS had “monitored the pair for over a year.”
The investigation into Polachek is still ongoing, and further charges “may be made at a later date,” Sheriff Thoroughman warned. Anybody with information pertinent to the inquiry is requested to call Det. Sgt. Conkel at 740-351-1091, he said.
One week after the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office detained an 18-year-old male for allegedly raping a 5-year-old in Portsmouth, charges against Polachek were brought. Once more working with the Special Victims Unit of the prosecutor, police arrested Cody Lee Taylor on July 18 for one count of felony rape.
According to the sheriff’s office, local residents who witnessed the alleged rape assisted detectives in finding “a video from the event location” that resulted in Taylor’s arrest. He’s being jailed right now on a $100,000 bail.
