For most individuals, getting dressed is an easy thing to do but not for kids with autism. It can be a challenge.
Lauren Thierry son’s Liam, has autism, and wanted to teach him how to get dressed. “I know it sounds like such a non-issue, and yet, if your kid can’t get dressed, they can’t get out of the house,” said Lauren.
So she created a fashionable clothing line, called Independence Day Clothing, to make it easy for children with autism to get dressed. The clothes can be worn backwards or inside out, so getting dressed is much less of a task. They also have no buttons, zippers, tags or laces.
