Your primary worry as a parent is the safety of your kid. However, even the most well-thought-out safety precautions can fall short and lead to calamity.
Erika Moon’s 4-year-old son Isaac was on the Autism Spectrum, was nonverbal, and had no awareness of danger, according to Moon. His obliviousness to risk resulted in a disastrous situation.
Moon had painstakingly installed a baby gate in her Boston apartment to prevent her kid from accessing dangerous sections of the property. But, as per Moon, Isaac was able to sneak under the baby gate and open a window.
He unlocked the fence that was obstructing her window, as well as the window itself. He leaned out the window and ‘boom,’ he fell out” she explained. When she heard the boom, she ran down and grabbed him up. He wasn’t moving.
First responders were called to the 12 American Legion Highway at 3:17 p.m. on August 17th following a report of a 4-year-old kid falling out of a fourth-floor window.
First responders saw the child’s life-threatening injuries and transported him to Boston Children’s Hospital. After over a week in the hospital, the small youngster perished to his wounds and died.
Neighbors had also heard screams and remembered the dreadful scene. Nelson Peguero, a neighbor, described the terrifying event, stating he heard a scream, and upon hearing the cry, he glanced out the window. That’s when he noticed the kid. He doesn’t know who they are, but he saw a woman walk out, and is not sure if she was the child’s mother. She took up the infant and was in serious need of assistance, he continued.
The family has set up a GoFundMe page to aid with hospital fees and now burial plans for the young kid. And aid Isaac’s mother and two elder siblings, whom he has abandoned.
Moon had expressed feeling frightened living on the fourth level, according to the GoFundMe description. He has autism spectrum disorder, so she has been warning folks that they can’t go on the fourth level, Moon explained. He has no fear of death. He doesn’t even say anything.
The situation will be investigated, according to authorities. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, Boston Police Homicide Division, district detectives, and the Crimes Against Children Unit are all working together on the case.
What a terrifying scenario for any parent. May no parent have to go through such anguish.
