Overwhelmed people gathered up outside Buckingham Palace to catch a sight of King Charles III and pay tribute to the late Queen.
The new King was greeted warmly when he spoke with the populace on Friday afternoon while slowly making his approach to the palace’s front gates.
He got out of his Bentley and proceeded through the gathering of hundreds, shaking hands and speaking with those who had been waiting for him all morning.
Janny Assiminios was overtaken with emotion and stretched out to grip the King’s face before bringing him in for a cheek kiss.
While the deed may have violated royal protocol, Charles was cordial in the situation and seemed to thank her.
As he went by, a second woman kissed his outstretched hand.
Ms Assiminios subsequently said that she requested the King’s consent before kissing him on the cheek.

A spontaneous singing of the National Anthem broke out in emotional circumstances as the Royal Standard was raised over Buckingham Palace for the first time during his reign.
He made an attempt to greet as many individuals as possible in the audience, and he received a solitary rose from one of the many well-wishers who had brought flowers for the occasion.
He spent a total of 12 minutes with the populace outside the palace gates.
Raynald Leconte, a New York-based film director, claimed he was fortunate to chat with the King and Queen Consort outside Buckingham Palace.

He believe that is where the royal family should be communicating with the people right now. These are genuine loyalists, and it’s good to have him back in office, in command of the family and the Crown.
Camilla, the Queen Consort, arrived at Buckingham Palace with Charles but stood back while he welcomed the people and took their good wishes.
She returned to his side to admire the floral bouquets and handwritten letters placed at the royal gates.
In anticipation of the King’s arrival, cops had pulled people back from the main gate of Buckingham Palace around 1.30pm, with officers constructing a 30ft corridor between the masses and the flower bouquets.
