The 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign was commemorated in the first week of June 2022, while the real anniversary occurred on February 6, 2022. The Platinum Jubilee was celebrated during a four-day bank holiday, with locals urged to attend a variety of commemorative activities.

The Queen remains comfortable at Balmoral, the statement stated. Tragically, the queen died later that day, on Sept. 8, 2022.
Despite only knowing the queen for a few years, Meghan said that they developed a strong relationship. In an interview with Oprah in 2021, Meghan stated, the queen has always been fantastic to her. She loved being in her company. She went on to say that the Queen has always been warm, friendly, and encouraging. Meghan stated that she was nervous before meeting the queen, but their relationship grew after spending time together.
Meghan stated that the queen reminded her of her own grandma at various points. And she had a blanket that rested across her knees for warmth, and it was chilly, and she was like, ‘Meghan, come on.’ And she placed it over her knees as well, and it made her think of her grandmother, who has always been warm and friendly and very loving, she told Oprah.
When Harry and Meghan attended the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in June 2022, they were able to spend quality time with her. The queen also had the opportunity to meet their daughter, Lillibet, for the first time.

Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.”
