After all, Prince Harry and his family are still paying their tributes to Queen Elizabeth II, so he got to wear his military uniform – a move that supposedly came from the King personally.
Harry was dressed in full military gear Saturday, alongside his brother Prince William, who was also dressed in uniform, and six other of QE2’s grandkids, including Princess Anne’s kids, Prince Andrew’s daughters, and Prince Edward’s young kids… who are 18 and 14.
Will was at the head of the Queen’s coffin, and Harry was at the tail… with the other grandchildren surrounding it. They remained silent for 15 minutes as part of a special vigil held specifically for them.
It’s strange that Harry is dressed like this… recall, he was in civilian clothing earlier in the week when they took his grandmother’s casket to lie in state, while Will was in uniform. After a supposed change of heart by King Charles, he is now permitted to wear military uniforms as well.
BTW, he’s not the only Royal (on the outs) who received a special pass for this occasion… Prince Andrew was also permitted to wear his military uniform for a vigil held among the Queen’s kids on Friday, purportedly at the request of the King.
It’s unknown why Charles changed but rumor has it that this was entirely his choice, with Harry seemingly not asking for it – and simply rolling with the blows as they continue to grieve.
