Patrick Duffy ‘Never Thought’ He Would Feel Love Again after Grieving Wife of 43 Years Yet Is Finally ‘Happy’

Patrick Duffy, an American actor and director, has been in the entertainment industry for decades and is undeniably passionate about his work.

He is most known for his portrayal as Bobby Ewing in the 1980s drama “Dallas,” but he is also recognized as a guy who went against all obstacles to be with the woman he loved, Carlyn Rosser.

Duffy’s love affair with the love of his life spans decades, beginning aboard a tour bus. The actor was a college graduate travelling as a narrator with a dance show at the time, and Rosser was a ballet dancer.

Duffy didn’t mind that she was 10 years her senior. He was enamored by the dancer as quickly as he saw her, and the actor recognized his desire to be with Rosser.

Soon after, the lovebirds began dating, and they were a match made in heaven. By February 1974, Duffy and Rosser had gone down the aisle and were prepared to spend the rest of their lives together.

For the following few decades, it looked as though their ambition of being at one other’s side for a lifetime was unstoppable. But, after 43 years of marriage, the couple’s partnership ended in 2017 owing to Rosser’s terrible death.

Rosser died abruptly in January 2017 at the age of 77. The news of her death broke Duffy’s heart since he had formed his life around her and couldn’t picture existence without her. It was even more sad for the actor, who subsequently announced that his wife died unexpectedly.

Duffy had to cope with the heartbreak of realizing he would never see Rosser again. Two years after the ballet dancer’s death, the Hollywood legend still considered himself “a married person.”‘

The “Dallas” star revealed in a 2019 interview that he could still hear and see his late wife. He stated he still felt connected to her at all times and missed her touch the most. It was a trying moment for the actor, but he was fortunate to have his kids to assist him cope.

They were there for one another through the difficult journey, but Duffy could tell that it was significantly easier for him to accept Rosser’s death – he is much older and has dealt with loss more than his kids. While confronting his wife’s death was excruciatingly difficult, the actor realized he had no choice but to do so or remain shattered for the rest of his life.

So he coped with the grief gradually while holding on to the memories he experienced with Rosser. Duffy had given up on the prospect of finding love again after coping with his bereavement, but life had other ideas for him.

He would eventually have a second opportunity at happiness with Linda Purl, an actress and singer. During the epidemic, they started texting each other in a group chat, but after a short period, Duffy and Purl realized something was going on between them.

So the two switched from messaging to FaceTime and then to Zoom for two to three hours before night.

Duffy and Purl ultimately met in individual for the first time after four months of regular communication via technological devices, since it was 2020, the thick of the epidemic.

Their romance became formal in July 2020, and the couple has been together ever then. It’s been an incredible journey for Duffy, who went from believing he’d never find love again to being in a loving relationship.

Finally, the Hollywood legend is overjoyed to be dating again later in life. He and Purl are having the finest time of their life, doing nearly everything together.

Meanwhile, in honor of the actor’s family, Duffy and Purl just developed a new baking product in their name. The new product is a sourdough kit that includes a dried version of a starter that has been around for at least seven decades.

Duffy has done a lot in his career, but parenting is one of his most notable accomplishments as an actor. The actor is a devoted father to two kids, Padraic and Conor, whom he shares with his late wife.

Padraic, the eldest, was born in 1974, the same year his parents married. Although he is not as well-known as his father, the 48-year-old is doing well in his chosen sector.

Padraic is the general director of a Los Angeles theatrical group. He also wrote the 2009 short play “Me, You, a Bag, and Bamboo.”

Padraic is a spouse and parent in addition to his professional life. He is happily married to Emily Kosloski, with whom he has two daughters.

Conor, on the other hand, is well-known. The 42-year-old actor was born in 1980 and has been in shows such as “Dallas,” “Arrested Development,” “Superstore,” and “The Mick and Good Girls.”

Conor, like his brother, is also a family man. He has been married to his wife, TV Producer Emily Cutler, since 2006, and the pair has two wonderful kids.
