There are few expressions of affection in life that are as genuine and eternal as the love expressed between siblings.
If you’ve ever had a brother or sister, you’ll understand what I mean. Sure, siblings squabble and fight – that is to be expected – yet at the end of the day, there are very few things that may build a gap between them that cannot be bridged.
In summary, most of us would go to great lengths for our siblings, whether they were older, younger, or the same age as us. We get irritated when they are irritated; we celebrate their accomplishments and encourage their actions; and if someone else harms them, that individual becomes our adversary as well.
The thought of something terrible happening to a brother or sister is unsettling. As a result, we can only empathize with the Aguilera family, particularly their son, Josh…
The Colorado Aguileras have 2 kids, Josh and Janea.
By all accounts, they were your typical, loving family, until one day, when Janea was 12, it became clear that she had a rare and highly serious condition.
Unfortunately, the sickness would take her life, but not before her brother made an incredible effort to offer his sister joyful memories to hold on to in the end.
Janea Aguilera was known in her community as a joyful, bouncy youngster, according to sources. She was renowned as the first-millennium baby born in her little town of Lamar, Colorado.
Nonetheless, in 2012, this unfortunate little child was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare kind of cancer. Starting in her bones, it targeted her essential organs, forcing Janea to have one of her legs amputated.
Janea stayed courageous after her diagnosis and was able to maintain a pretty healthy lifestyle for the next two years. Unfortunately, her cancer got more severe in 2014.
She soon knew that this dreadful sickness would take her life. As a result, she created a bucket list and stated that her biggest dream was to attend prom.
As luck would have it, her brother, Josh, was getting ready to attend his own prom. When he spotted Janea’s name on the list, he asked his sister if she’d be his prom date.
She was like, ‘Oh my God, are you serious?’ And then she began to weep, Josh added. Naturally he too burst into tears.
Given that Janea was only in eighth grade, her family needed to do several things, such as obtain approval from the school for her to attend.
Nonetheless, everything went off without a hitch, and Janea was soon set for her big night. She and Josh came together, the former in a breathtaking red strapless gown and the latter in a black Tuxedo.
My baby girl looked GORGEOUS for prom! So glad her brother had this idea to make her dream of going to prom come true!…

Not only did Janea get to fulfill her dream, but the evening was made much more memorable when she was chosen prom queen!
The 14-year-bravery old’s in the face of inconceivable circumstances encouraged people that evening. Unfortunately, she died just two days later, on April 28, 2014, much to the dismay of her friends and family.
Janea’s tenacity and willingness to enjoy her life until the end should be commended. Her tale is so heartbreaking.
However, I believe her brother, Josh, should be commended for doing everything in his power to ensure that his younger sister cherished the time she had left.
Cancer is a scourge on society. The sooner we are able to get rid of it, the better. Share this post if you, too, believe that cancer will be eradicated before too long.
