Christina Perri has just given birth to a very unique bundle of joy.
On Sunday, the singer-songwriter announced on Instagram that she had given birth to her “double rainbow” baby on Saturday, Oct. 22.
“She’s arrived!” Perri wrote beside a black-and-white photo of herself cuddling her baby daughter. She arrived safely thanks to a lot of confidence, trust, and fairy dust. Please accept Pixie Rose Costabile, their amazing double rainbow baby daughter.
Perri’s thankfulness and pleasure seep through as she stares down at little Pixie in the photo.
It’s a thrill that comes after so much pain.
Pixie is a rainbow baby, a child born after a miscarriage or stillbirth, and her arrival comes after Perri and her husband, Paul Costabile, suffered two such losses in 2020.
Perri miscarried at 11 weeks in January 2020, and in November of that year, she announced the death of her stillborn daughter, Rosie.
When the singer, who also has a 4-year-old daughter named Carmella, announced her most recent pregnancy in May, she attributed it to Rosie.
Perri wrote at the time, Rosie sent Carmella a little sister and they’re so thrilled. They’ve been experiencing everything, yet largely trying to choose pleasure every day.
