Lavel Davis Jr., D’Sean Perry, and Devin Chandler were all slain on the University of Virginia’s campus this past Sunday, November 13, according to heartbreaking accounts.
A news conference was conducted yesterday morning to identify the dead, all of whom were teammates on the UVA football team.
According to reports, two more kids were shot in the event, including Michael Hollins Jr., the team’s running back. One of the pupils is stated to be in good condition, while the other is serious.
During a news conference yesterday, University of Virginia President Jim Ryan stated that the incident occurred on a charter bus after the students returned to school following a field trip.
Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., a suspect in the shooting, was detained “without incident” shortly before 11 a.m.
Jones, 22, was arrested and charged with three charges of second-degree murder and three counts of using a weapon in the commission of a felony. Jones was a member of the University of Virginia football team in 2018.
In his statement, Jim Ryan offered sympathy for the victims’ families, while Virginia football coach Tony Elliot defined the team’s thoughts as “devastation and anguish.”
Ryan explained that the children had flown to Washington D.C. on Sunday to watch a performance as part of a class field trip. They allegedly had dinner there before someone amongst them opted to commit violence.

The university’s multi-disciplinary threat assessment team was told in September that Jones had made a statement about carrying a gun on campus, according to University of Virginia Police Chief Tim Longo. However, he said that the individual who gave along the information had never seen the rifle in question.
Lavel Davis, Jr. was a junior wide receiver for the University of Virginia football team who concluded his rookie season with the nation’s second highest average yards per reception (25.75).
Likewise, D’Sean Perry was a junior linebacker and defensive end. Devin Chandler, the third victim, was a junior wide receiver and kick returner.
