According to sources, Cam Besonen, who had severe autism and was nonverbal, was discovered in the woods near his house.
After alerting members of the teenager’s family, authorities from the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office and County Emergency Management made the announcement late yesterday (Monday) afternoon.
Cam’s mom, Jill Keeley-Besonen, stated on her Facebook page- about an hour ago, Cam’s body was discovered. Thank you to everyone who helped with the search. He has joined Jesus!
According to Upper Michigan Source, over 400 volunteers, as well as tribal and federal agencies, as well as local and state governments, have searched the region surrounding the Besonen family home.
Circumstances were tough, though, with snow and sub-freezing temperatures combining to make an unfavorable outlook.
