According to Harris County Deputies, a suspect was shot by a gun shop owner during a robbery at the Crosby business.
The 79-year-old Navy veteran walked outdoors to investigate a ruckus at 4:30 a.m. When he noticed a male suspect exiting his Kennings Road business, he opened fire.
Officials said the suspects fired numerous shots at the owner. He crouched behind a small tree while exchanging fire with the suspects, eventually admitting to shooting at least one of them.
Deputies discovered one of the suspects’ firearms on the road and others near the building.
About 15 minutes later, deputies discovered a boy in his late teens or early twenties at another site on Morelos Road. The man died at the scene from a gunshot wound. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that the victim was most likely related to the gun store crime.
The sheriff added that some firearms were located near the corpse and were thought to have been stolen during the burglary. At the second scene, two men were apprehended.
Gonzalez reported that the guys were discovered in a car that seems to be one of the vehicles utilized in the crime. A grand jury will be formed to hear the matter.
