If you’ve ever tried to sing along to the US National Anthem, you understand how difficult it is to nail all the appropriate notes.
So imagine doing it in front of a huge crowd!
Isaac Bryant, a 17-year-old high school junior, gave it a shot despite having no intention of performing.
It’s a difficult job, but someone has to do it.
To be fair, Bryant’s ambition is to become a singer. You don’t just let anyone sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” in public.
But his solo came about in an unusual way: during a high school wrestling match at Mechanicsburg High School in Ohio. There was obviously no one else to perform the anthem.
The adolescent went for it after a little nudging from a pal, and he delivered an outstanding performance by any standard.
He simply sang from the bottom of his heart, he explained.
Fortunately, somebody was present to document the occurrence (and the Facebook video – which now has over 1 million views – is available down below). It’s difficult to predict when something will strike a chord with individuals, but the teen’s act surely did.
He feels lucky and genuinely thanks God, Bryant added, since it is lightning in a bottle, and it doesn’t occur frequently. And he believes it is going viral since it is true, individuals recognize it, and there are a lot of individuals in the military.
Division III District Wrestling Championships@ Troy, Ohio. The announcer asked if there was anyone who could sing the National Anthem, since they didn't have one for the night. This young wrestler stepped up and it was awesome! *Isaac Bryant, Mechanisburg High School

Of course, once the video went viral, news outlets descended on his little Ohio town, where the boy grew up listening to country music (Hank Williams, in particular).
Bryant received a surprise from his mother not long after his spontaneous performance. She instructed him to prepare to go to John Glenn International Airport.
It was Bryant’s first public performance of the National Anthem, and his solo performance earned him an opportunity to sing on a larger platform. But first, he put on another surprise performance at the airport.
He gave bystanders something to speak about on their flights by performing on a guitar built by his grandpa.
Afterwards, he was called to sing the song again, this time for Medal of Honor winners in Washington, D.C.
At this point, it’s all a dream come true, Bryant remarked of his internet popularity.
He’s especially happy that his chance arrived when he was performing a patriotic song. And he had a message for people who are fed up with current events.
He loves America, and if one is losing trust in America, don’t, he urged.
Bryant is presently pursuing a career in country music while studying at Ohio State, where he is a sophomore.
Check out the two videos below to see not only Bryant’s remarkable performance, but also an interview with the adolescent!
