Damar Hamlin, a Buffalo Bills safety, was in severe condition after collapsing on the field and required CPR and an AED before being brought to the hospital.
The NFL announced that the game between the Bills and the Bengals has been rescheduled.
Hamlin was treated on the spot by team and independent medical personnel, as well as local paramedics. He was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital, where he is in serious condition, in a statement, the league stated.
Their hearts go out to Damar and the Buffalo Bills. More information will be provided when it becomes available.
The NFL has been in continual contact with the NFL Players Association, which has agreed to postpone the game.

The terrifying occurrence happened with 5:58 left in the first quarter and Cincinnati leading the game 7-3. On the Bengals’ second possession of the game, quarterback Joe Burrow completed a throw to Tee Higgins. Bills safety Hamlin came across to make the game-ending tackle.
Hamlin stood up and took a few steps backward before collapsing on the Paycor Stadium field. As the ESPN broadcast went to commercial, medical workers arrived to attend to Hamlin. A stretcher and backboard were brought out, followed by an ambulance.
Hamlin remained on the ground for some time, and numerous reporters stated that he was given CPR from medical personnel on the ground before being loaded into the ambulance. Hamlin was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The whole football world prayed for Hamlin. Both teams’ players and coaches were in tears and prayed for the greatest possible result.
In the sixth round of the 2021 draft, the Bills picked Hamlin with the 212th overall choice. In his first season, he appeared in 14 games, largely on special teams.
Hamlin, 24, was taking part in his 16th game of the year. He got greater playing time, recording 91 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
