Sadle Davila, a 7-year-old girl from Louisiana, died as a consequence of a violent pit bull assault. The pit bull’s owner is facing negligent homicide charges. Eric Lopez, 20, has been recognized as the pit bull’s owner. He was not present during the incident. On January 6, 2023, she was playing in the yard when the assault happened.
Eric Lopez is a native of East Baton Rouge. According to Eric’s testimony to investigators, the dog routinely explored the next property. Pitbull aggressively attacked Sadle and continued to maul her despite several efforts to stop him. One of the girl’s relatives attempted to use a walking cane, however the dog would not let go.
Sadle Davila is a first-grader. She was transported to the hospital immediately following the horrific incident. She was severely bitten on the face by the pit bull, which combined with serious skull injuries resulted in her death.
Sadle Davila’s mother Haley Anselmo said that “nothing will be the same” following her daughter’s terrible death. Haley Anselmo discussed her loss. She put others’ needs ahead of her own, Anselmo said of her daughter. She had a large imagination and a lot of spark. She wants everyone to be happy, Sadle’s mother stated. Sadle was the light of her family’s and her mom’s existence.
On Facebook, East Baton Rouge Sheriff Sid Gautreaux posted a eulogy for Sadle Davila, writing, “This is a horrific, tragic tragedy. His heart goes out to this family, and they will stay in his prayers, he said. The arrested Eric Lopez stated that he was not there when the pit bull mauled Sadle. Animal control authorities apprehended the dog after discovering blood around its jaws and face. It is unknown what will occur to Lopez’s pit bull. EBRSO homicide is now investigating the matter. Eric Lopez’s dog is currently in the care of Animal Control.
