When Tessica Brown’s preferred hairspray ran out, she wanted to try an option to keep her hair exactly in place.
Rather than her usual product, the Louisiana woman applied a layer of industrial-strength Gorilla Glue on her hair… completely oblivious of the sticky results.
Tessica had no idea what she was going to go through.
Tessica demonstrated to her viewers in a now-viral TikTok video the degree to which her stiff hair was unable to move even after 15 washing. The adhesive had physically glued itself to her scalp.
Nothing, not cooking oil, not baby oil, not even acetone wipes, managed to remove the Gorilla Glue.
Tessica sought the aid of a pal to remove her ponytail, which took four hours!
In response to Tessica’s story, Gorilla Glue reminded the public that their product is not intended to be used on hair.
Nonetheless, when Tessica’s story spread, she received an overflow of empathy and sorrow from individuals all around the country.
Dr. Michael Obeng, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, was able to assist. Tessica was sedated throughout the process to remove the glue.
