Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, and Tom Wilson were all part of the fantastic Back to the Future film trilogy. Even over four decades after the film’s first release, there remain fans of the series who can’t get enough of it.
The cast was invited to the FanExpo event for this reason. The cast reconnected to reminisce about their time together.
Lea Thompson, who portrayed Marty McFly’s mom in the previous two films, came to Instagram to discuss their reunion. She blogged and uploaded images and videos from the event.
In October 2022, Lloyd and Fox reconnected at the New York Comic-Con, but this time other members of the cast were also invited. The actors shared a lot of information that some individuals may not have known about while the series was being recorded.
They stated that Michael J. Fox took up the part of Marty McFly after Eric Stotz was cast.
Christopher Lloyd, 84, expressed his displeasure with the casting change. The actor said that the news at one o’clock in the morning after they had been filming for six weeks was that the actor portraying Marty would no longer be playing Marty and that they would start shooting with Michael tomorrow.
He said he felt like he barely made it through the first six weeks, and now he had to do it again. As they say, there was instant chemistry.
Confirming our assumptions, the two guys share a real and fantastic relationship. Such a great friendship the two guys have; the closeness they have kept for decades now nearly brings you to tears.
Fox, on the other hand, had a great time from the start. Just take everything in and let it wash over him, the actor said. He was amazing in his opinion. That was it, the 61-year-old actor said. Be with Chris, let Chris be Chris, and enjoy it. That was thrilling. He knew it was going to be a nice day if Fox got to work with him.
Fox has talked highly of his co-star Christopher Lloyd throughout the years. He had previously recounted how the two of them had become close. Fox said that Chris is a fantastic man. He’s incredibly mysterious. It took a few films for him to get to know him. They felt a connection in ‘Back to the Future Part III’ that they hadn’t felt in the previous films. Fox began to notice how passionate Chris was about acting. It had never occurred to him before. To sit down and speak about acting, Shakespeare, and “King Lear”… This man is King Lear material! Nobody expects that from him. He’s always surprising.
He has also lauded Lloyd as an actor, adding, he can deliver a movie’s worth of dialogue in two seconds and you understand it. People like them, the normal performers, have to put in countless hours to get the material out. Chris is amazing at it, he adds. His passion for cinema and his desire to be an actor. He’s not simply a mad person; he’s also an artist.
The actor also provided some personal details. He spoke about how the cast helped him when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s is the gift that keeps on taking, Fox added. But it’s a blessing, and he wouldn’t trade it for the world. Guys like Chris have been there a lot for him, and so many of them have, he says. It’s not about what Fox has; it’s about what he’s been given: the ability to speak out and aid others.
