Johnny Depp, star of “Pirates of the Caribbean,” recently won a six-year defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, who accused him of domestic abuse.
The former couple wed in a secret island wedding in 2015. Their marriage, though, was brief, lasting just 15 months.
After accusing Depp of marital abuse, Heard obtained a temporary restraining order, citing fundamental disagreements.
Heard and Depp’s divorce was completed in 2016, with a $7 million payment. But the downhill spiral started in 2019 when Depp sued his ex-wife for defamation over an article she wrote for the Washington Post accusing him of sexual assault in 2018.
The court case began on April 11, 2022, with both sides accusing each other of physical, emotional, and mental abuse.
Things only got worse as the two actors were forced to peel back every layer of their relationship in front of the judge. Nonetheless, the trial concluded on June 1 in favor of Depp. The jury determined that Heard’s use of the term “victim of sexual abuse” in the article was defamatory.
Heard was supposed to pay Depp $10.4 million in exchange; however, the actress apparently cannot afford to pay Depp that much money.
One week after the defamation trial concluded, Depp was awarded $15 million in damages by the jury. Camille Vasquez and Benjamin Chew, his attorneys, were brought to Good Morning America to discuss their huge success.
The lawyers underlined that the litigation was never about money for Depp, but rather about rehabilitating his image.
After winning the lawsuit, Depp issued his own statement. He reflected on how false but severe and destructive claims affected his and his kids’ lives six years ago.
He remarked about the media’s hatred for him, but he was thankful to the court for giving him his life back.

According to an insider, Depp is not thinking about the past. He kept his head up and tried hard not to think about anything negative. According to the source, the actor was pleased with the outcome.
The actor is now gradually easing into his next movements while also reveling in the sensation of having the weight of six years lifted off his shoulders.
Another insider reported three months after the verdict that Depp was in a good place and had even begun dating again.
Despite his good health, Depp recently made a public appearance, and fans had a few things to say about his attire.
During his search for guitars, Depp stopped into an antique shop. When a film celebrity of such quality suddenly stepped into the shop, the staff were taken aback.
Robert Miller, the proprietor of Hemswell Antique Stores for more than 20 years, said Depp was extremely down to earth.
Miller described the actor’s visit as enjoyable since he was being his natural, comfortable self. He spent a lot of time looking over the guitars, playing them, and settling down.
For someone like that to come through their doors is wonderful, Miller said of seeing Depp go inside his business. He even felt that Depp’s experience was so positive that he would return to purchase additional guitars.
But, photographs from Depp’s antique store excursion had some admirers criticizing the actor’s taste while others thought it was ideal vintage shopping wear.
Several admirers voiced their delight at Depp’s victory. He was characterized as a magnificent human being who was now free to live his life without fear of being discovered.
Some followers congratulated him for battling and avoiding the most dangerous gunshot in the six-year case. His followers wished him success in his new phase as well.
Fans, on the other hand, echoed the same loving feelings but were perplexed by Depp’s attire.
One person questioned why the actor wore such terrible attire given that he is such a good-looking guy. Yet, he was lauded for his unique dress sense.
