We sometimes lose sight of the fact that every day we have a choice. We can choose to connect to those around us, or we can choose to close ourselves off. Some days we may not feel like reaching out to others, but on days when we can, you never know just what may come of it.
When Brooke Ochoa arrived at her favorite restaurant for lunch, she noticed an elderly woman by the name of Delores sitting all by herself. She timidly walks across and asks her if it’s okay if they had lunch together.
Turns out Delores recently lost her mom, and now she didn’t have any company. They both had a wonderful talk and kept listening to each others stories.
And now they’ve decided to have lunch together every Thursday afternoon.
