According to Kendra Wilkinson, her children have always been her inspiration.
The 38-year-old Kendra Sells Hollywood actress spoke up about starting over following her divorce from Hank Baskett and how her reality TV career looked to be coming to an end during a recent appearance on Melissa Gorga’s On Display podcast.
Wilkinson described the period of her life to Gorga, saying that it was impossible to be happy at that point. She had no idea how to be joyful. Her children gave her a reason to live.
Daughter Alijah Mary, 9, and son Hank Jr., 12, are Wilkinson’s kids with Baskett, and they gave her the motivation to stay alive, to keep going, to drive them to hockey and basketball, and to smile and watch them do everything. They were responsible for keeping her heart pumping.
In February 2019, Wilkinson and Baskett’s divorce was officially formalized, and they both decided to divide joint legal and physical custody of their two children.
The mother of two recalled feeling “like a zombie” as she battled to decide what to do next and what she was going to do for a living.
Nobody pays her expenses. She has never…She remembered, It was really difficult. Four or five years later, then. She accomplished a lot of healing, she thought to herself. She spent a lot of time recovering from Playboy. “Okay, who am I?” she asks. Who is that woman? She has no idea who this individual even is.
The former Girls Next Door actress expressed her thankfulness for her connection with her children and where she is in her parenting journey in a clip from the first season of her Discovery+ series last year.
She remarked that she couldn’t have wished for more ideal children. She mean, it’s so precious and so powerful when it comes to parenting and her relationship with kids, she remarked. They are the one aspect of her life where she is succeeding, she thinks.
