In Denver, Colorado, Steve Greig has become something of an Internet sensation, although he certainly never intended for that to happen. But what he does doesn’t exactly happen everyday… to everyone.
Steve owns 10 dogs, a rabbit, two ducks, two chickens, a bunch of cats and pigeons and a pond full of koi. Oh, and he has a pig named Bikini. It’s quite the menagerie, and they’ve all been nicknamed “The Wolf Gang.”
Steve works as an accountant. Probably a good thing since he has to keep up with a lot of numbers in his house. He makes 10 different breakfasts for his elderly dogs and has to return home for lunch to give all of his animals snacks and treats. And maybe a little loving too.
Steve and his animals are a big hit on Instagram, where his page has more than 900k followers. For quite a while, he has taken in disadvantaged animals and given them as good a life as he can. And when he takes all of his dogs to the park for a walk… well, that can be quite an adventure. Because of that, Steve says, he probably “should have become an air traffic controller.”
He explains that his love for animals started at a very young age, when he was actually raised with a lot of pets in the household.
Says Steve: “They just make it feel like home. It’s just fulfilling knowing that these guys are happy and loved and well-taken care of. It makes my days worthwhile.”
Taking in most of these disadvantaged animals started when a very special dog of his died. A few months later, he realized he would feel better by taking in those special animals. He then adopted a chihuahau that was suffering from a heart murmur and had four bad knees. The rest of his special friends seemed to follow soon after that.
There’s one thing for sure… Steve will never be lonely again. And neither will his animal friends.
