Little Timmy Vick, of Delaware, is 5 years old. And he has a brain tumor. Certain things will keep his spirits high, and among those things is a replica of a World Wrestling Entertainment championship belt. It’s a symbol for him; something that shows he can rise above this terrible ordeal he’s going through and be a winner. Be a champion. It gives Timmy the comfort and courage he needs to face such a situation.
Timmy’s dad wanted to make some modifications to the belt, possibly to personalize it for his son. So he sent it off to Sergio Moreia, who is a wrestling belt artist. Sergio, after learning of what Timmy is going through, said he would make the modifications to the belt free of charge; and that Timmy’s dad would only have to pay for shipping it to him.
But before Sergio could retrieve the belt off of his porch, some thieves took it. Sergio discovered they took it when he reviewed his doorbell camera video from that day. Of course, he was appalled that anyone would take someone’s packages from their porch, much less, steal from the hopes of a sick little boy.
His next step, after contacting police, was to alert a local TV news station, hoping that if the thieves watched it, they would do the right thing. The news station ran with the story, emphasizing that the belt that had been stolen was intended for a very sick boy.

Two days after the broadcast, two women knocked on Sergio’s door. They had the belt and they handed him a hand-written letter.
It read: We are so sorry for taking your stuff. Never in a million years would I have stolen from a sick five-year-old, I have a 6 year old myself and am ashamed of what I did. you see life has had its ups and downs for us were homeless and we were trying to make a quick dollar or two.
We never wanted to steal a child’s hope. We have everything from both packages inside this pink tote I will knock on your door and will tell you the same, I am embarrassed with myself ashamed and deserve all the hate of the world.
Please find it in your hearts to forgive us. We never wanted to steal a child’s hope, After seeing ourselves looking like low lives on the news, we have both decided to get clean and sober.
Sergio said that both of the women were crying as he read their letter, and both seemed genuinely sorry they did what they did. And after they did the right thing, Sergio hugged them and returned the favor. He did not press charges against them.
