Children with Down syndrome often experience cruelties from others in school. Noelia Garella, of Argentina, had to deal with many of those cruelties when she was a child.
Even officials at a nursery school her parents tried to get her into referred to her as “a monster,” and rejected her from the school. It’s hard to believe anyone would do that… but they did.
Two years ago, though, Noelia, now a 31-year-old woman, was hired as a preschool teacher, becoming one of the very few in the world with Down syndrome to be hired for such a position.
Says Noelia: “I adore this. Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to be a teacher, because I like children so much.”
Now, looking back at the officials who rejected her at such a young age from that nursery school. Who… was the real monster?
