July 27 – A group in Chicago organized an “I got your back” drive, which offers backpacks filled with goodies to those who live on the streets.
As group members were handing out the backpacks near the downtown area, they ran into Albert, who had been homeless for quite some time. And when they gave Albert a backpack and told him what it had inside, Albert couldn’t believe it.
He told them it was his birthday, and that he just turned 66. And then he told them that he would really like to walk downtown and go to a movie at one of the theaters.
The volunteer reached into his pocket and gave Albert a $20 bill, and told him to go see a movie. Albert thanked him and started crying and hugged the man for his kindness.
