Story by Bambi Loveday
We stopped at Walmart to pick up our online grocery order today. The sweet lady that brought our groceries brought me out a bouquet of flowers. I thanked her and as we drove away I told Cam that we would go home and put them in a vase.
He both melted and broke my heart with what he said next.
He said, “Mom, we should bring those to Granny’s grave. We can put them on her stone.”
It caught me off guard, but I agreed that he had a great idea.
The whole drive home, I thought about this sweet boy. He still misses her, especially at night. He was close to her, yet he has handled it well.
I thought about how at just five years old, he has hope. He knows she’s not gone. She’s just in Heaven. He knows he will get to see her again one day. And because of that, he has hope. He still has joy. Yes, we all miss her, but we don’t grieve like the world who has no hope. Our hope is in Jesus. And my sweet boy reminded me of that today. 💙
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
1 Thessalonians 4:13
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
