Amber Heard spoke in court on Monday about how she used a cosmetics kit to conceal injuries left on her body from Johnny Depp’s attacks. Heard explained that when she leaves the house in LA, she is usually snapped by photographers. No lady wants to go out in public with a scar on her face.
She stated how she used varied colors depending on how the markings progressed, first with green powder to cover up red marks and then transitioning to red or orange tones as the injuries grew purple.
“The objective is to contrast whatever color you’re working with on the wound,” Heard explained.
Heard’s usage of a beauty kit has sparked conspiracy ideas among Depp’s legal supporters, fanned by the cosmetics firm Milani.
Elaine Bredehoft, Heard’s lawyer, held up a makeup kit during opening arguments in April, telling jurors they’d hear about how Heard “had to blend the various colors for the different days of the injuries as they developed in the different coloring and how she would use to touch those up to be able to cover those.”
Milani cosmetics produced a TikTok video that quickly went viral, purporting to refute Bredehoft’s assertion. The Milani Conceal + Perfect All-in-One Correcting Kit she presented to the jury was launched in 2017, a year after Heard filed for divorce from Depp.

On Monday, Heard answered the theory on the stand. Under questioning from Bredehoft, who handed her the cosmetics kit, she stated that it was not “the identical one” she used during her relationship with Depp.
Heard explained this is what she is referring to, a color correcting kit. This is certainly not the same one she used to carry. Yet she used to have it with her at all times.
Depp sued Heard in 2019, claiming she defamed him in a Washington Post op-ed when she represented herself as a victim of domestic abuse. According to Depp, Heard was the genuine culprit in the relationship, verbally and physically assaulting him on a regular basis.
Heard has rejected the charges and filed a counterclaim, citing a dozen occasions of Depp physically assaulting her while under the effect of narcotics and alcohol in court records and evidence in Fairfax County, Virginia.
The aggression from Depp inspired Heard to adopt a bruise-care routine, starting with using ice to minimize swelling and ended with utilizing what she referred to as her “bruise kit.”
“If you freeze it, it becomes manageable. Arnica cream is also an excellent therapy” Heard was referring to a pain-relieving medication. “Then, if you want to disguise a bruise, you definitely apply foundation first, followed by concealer. I then apply a color correcting product on top of it.”
Earlier in the trial, Depp employees affirmed that they never saw Heard with wounds and that she wore minimal makeup. Heard stated that such individuals were simply incorrect.
She explained they just don’t understand what they’re talking about as she always puts on makeup.
