Amber Heard Is Lying According To DC

It’s no mystery that in the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard defamation trial, irrespective of how the jury feel, the Aquaman star has many less fans than she did previously. Or, at the very least, when her story and that of others has got the hashtag #AmberTurd trending, it’s difficult to believe the term carries a lot of trust and goodwill. You can now add DC Films to the list of persons who believe that at least some of Heard’s confession in the defamation action is false.

DC Films head Walter Hamada claimed on Tuesday that the issues involving Amber Heard and Johnny Depp had nothing to do with the conversation of recasting her role in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The main factor, according to Hamada, was that sparks didn’t appear to be flying between Heard and the film’s male star, Jason Momoa. Hamada explained that they didn’t have a lot of chemistry. He stated that it took “a great deal of effort” in postproduction for 2018’s Aquaman to “fabricate” the relationship between Mera and Aquaman.

This defies Amber Heard’s prior confession, in which she stated that she “worked extremely hard” to stay in Aquaman in the Lost Kingdom and that her role was decreased between her reading of the screenplay and the actual filming. “They really stole a lot of my role,” Heard explained. “They simply took out a bunch.” Heard, for example, revealed a fight sequence between Mera and another unknown character that was removed before production began.

Hamada refuted the allegation that Amber Heard’s part was “trimmed down,” claiming that Mera was never intended to be a love protagonist in the sequel. He stated that “from the very early phases of development,” Aquaman 2 was envisioned as a “buddy comedy” between Momoa’s Aquaman and the previous film’s villain, Patrick Wilson’s Orm.

Johnny Depp Trial: WB President Testifies Amber Heard's 'Aquaman 2' Role Was Not Reduced

Warner Bros. President Walter Hamada testifies in the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard defamation trial that the actress' role in 'Aquaman 2' was not affected by the public statements made about her by Depp.

It’s a bit strange to hear Hamada describe Aquaman in the Lost Kingdom as a “buddy comedy,” especially given what director James Wan has stated about the sequel. Wan has stated that the sequel was primarily influenced by the iconic 1965 Italian horror film Planet of the Vampires, and that it will be far darker than the original. However, pitching it as a “buddy comedy” with Aquaman and Orm as the main characters seems more like DC’s version of Thor: Ragnarok.

While it is unlikely to have any influence on the defamation action, the evidence that Amber Heard and Jason Momoa failed on-screen chemistry may put some light on fan complaints that surfaced earlier this year. When longtime partners Momoa and Lisa Bonet announced their breakup in January, many fans turned to Twitter almost instantly to accuse Amber Heard. If her main issue with the Aquaman flicks is that she has no spark with Momoa, then it’s safe to dismiss the speculations of a Heard/Momoa affair.
