Angelina Jolie drops daughter Zahara off at Spelman College for move-in day

Angelina Jolie is getting closer to having an empty nest.

On Thursday, the actress, 47, dropped off her 17-year-old daughter, Zahara, to Spelman College.

Darryl Holloman, the school’s Vice President of Student Affairs, uploaded photographs of the “Maleficent” star wearing an all-black ensemble for move-in day on Instagram.

For her part, the adolescent wore a green shirt with jeans. She posed for a photo in her new bedroom while wearing a black face mask.

When questioned about the momentous occasion, Jolie said that she is going to begin sobbing if she talks about today. She hasn’t begun sobbing yet, so perhaps she’ll be able to keep it together.

She went on to say that she was “overjoyed” to be the mom of a Spelman student.

When the duo visited a Los Angeles event for the Atlanta-based school earlier this month, the Oscar winner divulged her eldest daughter’s future aspirations.

Jolie said on Instagram on August 1 that  “Congratulations to all new students starting this year. This is a really unique place, and it is a pleasure to have a family member as a new Spelman girl.

Later that week, the director’s ex-husband, Brad Pitt, gushed over Zahara’s college ambitions, adding he is “happy” of his “brilliant” daughter.

She’s going to thrive even more in college, the 58-year-old actor expressed on August 2. It’s an exciting and lovely moment for her to forge her own path and follow her passions. She is  overjoyed. Where does the time go, you say? They mature far too quickly. It makes Jolie want to cry.

The parents of Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Shiloh, 16, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 14, are also the parents of the former couple, who divorced in 2016 and were pronounced officially single three years later.

Maddox moved to South Korea in August 2019 to attend Yonsei College. Likewise, Jolie was the only parent present during his drop-off.

She is trying not to weep, admitted the “Salt” actor at the moment.
