Emma Heming has persevered in the aftermath of her husband’s diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. The former model is collaborating with dementia experts to ensure that her husband gets the best possible care.
Emma remarked in 2022 that her sorrow can be paralyzing, but she is learning to live with it. Grief, as her stepdaughter [Scout Willis] put it, is the deepest and purest kind of love. She hopes one finds some solace in that as well.
Emma just uploaded a photo on Instagram with a lady she described as Teepa Snow, who assists in educating families on dealing with dementia, in March 2023. Heming stated how Snow is helping her build her “dementia care toolbox.”
Heming is clearly committed to providing the finest possible care for her spouse.
That week, though, she found a new Instagram function. Instagram’s memories function displays photographs or videos that you have uploaded on Instagram in the past year. Similarly, Heming was shown a recollection she wrote to Willis a year ago, thanking her.
She re-posted the video with a new caption that read, “What’s this new Memory thingy on IG!? Omg, my biggest fan. I’m in love with him.”
According to the video, Bruce is “crazy” about his wife’s skincare line, Cocobaba. Heming is clearly remembering a time when Willis was doing better than he is today.
Recently, photos of the actor were released in which he was seen sipping coffee and out and about in Los Angeles. Willis has kept a low profile since his first diagnosis of aphasia, so this sighting of the actor was unusual.
The family has been extraordinarily open about their experience with Bruce’s health and diagnosis. They previously posted a statement on Instagram describing the situation regarding the action star’s health.
Emma Heming, commented that their family wished to begin by conveying their greatest appreciation for the tremendous amount of affection, encouragement, and wonderful stories they have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis.
She said that in that spirit, they wished to give one an update on their beloved spouse, dad, and friend, as they now have a better understanding of what he is going through. Since they announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, his condition has progressed, and they now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).
While it was terrible, she added that they were delighted to finally get the right diagnosis for Willis.
Directors who had previously worked with Willis allegedly sought to make things as simple as possible for the actor as he dealt with decreasing cognitive skills.
The actor’s most recent film is White Elephant, in which the cast and crew stated they would ‘feed’ the actor lines, and at times he would not even comprehend the line but would just replicate what he had been given.
“It was less of an annoyance and more like: ‘How do we not make Bruce look bad?'” a crew member subsequently observed on the issue.
“Someone might say something to him that he didn’t comprehend.” He was merely being puppeted.”
We express our condolences to the Willis family at this difficult time. Please join us in sending our thoughts and prayers to them.
