Butcher mocks Charles’ swollen fingers by selling ‘King Charles III’ sausages

A butcher in New Zealand made fun of King Charles III and his ‘swollen fingers’ by selling ‘King Charles sausage fingers’ to commemorate his accession to the throne.

On Wednesday, Avon’s Butchery in Auckland declared on social media that the particular sausages will be available for a short time.

After the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on Thursday at the age of 96, King Charles III legally succeeded to the throne on Saturday.

Avon’s Butchery named their sausage line after the King in a playful allusion to recent images of his swollen fingers that have subsequently been posted on social media.

King Charles previously referred to his fingertips as “sausage fingers” when on tour in Australia in 2012.

The butchery initially uploaded a portrait of King Charles III, but then erased his fingers and playfully replaced them with genuine sausages.

The caption stated, ‘I’m going to hell.’

The following photograph is of the butchery’s authentic ‘King Charles III sausage fingers.’

The picture’s description states, ‘Limited stocks.’

For years, the now-King has suffered from swollen fingers.

A British doctor has subsequently clarified that the swelling might be caused by a variety of health issues, as well as water retention or – most likely – simple old age.

Oedema is a disorder in which the body begins to hold fluids in the limbs, mainly the legs and ankles but also the fingers, causing them to swell, Dr Gareth Nye said to the Daily Star.

To see if this is the reason, push the swollen region for around 15 seconds and look for a depression.

Women are more likely than males to get oedema since a female hormone, progesterone, causes the disease, causing some women with swelling ankles soon before their period.

Sitting for lengthy periods of time might cause the condition in the elderly.

Many times, King Charles has been photographed with swollen hands and feet, particularly after extended periods of flying or traveling to warmer regions.

Arthritis is another possible cause of’ sausage fingers.’

Arthritis is another prevalent illness in those over the age of 60. It frequently affects three major parts of the hand, including the thumb joint or either joint in the fingers, he explained.

Fingers typically become stiff, painful, and swollen, and while medicine can alleviate the discomfort, the swelling can persist.

Other factors might include a high salt diet or certain drugs, such as those used to treat high blood pressure.
