Cat Saved “Minutes” Before Being Tossed Into A Garbage Compactor.

Ya know, sometimes we’ve all just got to believe in fate. That there’s a doggone reason for things to happen the way they do. And it might actually have a little more credence when it comes to cats… that 9 lives thing they’ve got going for them.

Raymond Deidesheimer lives in the Bronx. One day a while back, he and his girlfriend were walking past some dumped out bags of garbage when they spotted a cat carrier lying amidst them. As Raymond took a closer look, he noticed there was a live cat inside the carrier!

Well, they were startled. How could someone throw out a live cat in its carrier? They were both very upset that someone would do such a thing.

So after making a video of the incident, which, unfortunately, is quite riddled with profanities, Raymond decided to take the black and white cat back to his home and figure out what to do with it.

Update! A big thanks to @bittersparkle who will be fostering to adopt Raymond! He’ll be vetted and let’s hope he’s all clear. Thank you to everyone for your support! #ittakesavillage! We really can’t believe this but a cat was literally thrown out with the trash inside his carrier. We’ve named him Raymond and he’s from the Little Italy section of the Bronx on Arthur Ave. Raymond is sweet, scared and was tossed out. He was thrown out last night and found by a bona-fide HERO today at lunch time who reached out to us for help. He couldn’t hold his urine for so many hours and went to the bathroom on himself. We cannot believe this. It’s incomprehensible. Can you help Raymond today? He needs an immediate foster. We will take care of vetting this Friday. Thank you @__bigray__ DM us right away! That’s us! Always saying yes. @ellen._.degeneres_fanpage @thedodo #raymond #tossedout #thrownaway #thrownawayliketrash #heartbroken #fosterneeded

After a short time, Raymond contacted a cat-rescue group called Little Wanderers NYC, which is based in the Bronx. Members of that group later called Raymond a hero for contacting them about the cat, because they surmise the animal was probably only minutes away from a crushing death inside a garbage truck.

They named the cat Earnest Raymond after its finder. Lisa Scroggins, who is the founder of the Little Wanderers group, said Earnest went to a foster family, and that same family later adopted him.

The adoptive mother, who goes by the name of Bittersparkle on Instagram, said, “We adore him. We will have an Importance of being Earnest Raymond site up soon.”

So Earnest went from being a thrown-out cat to pretty much the king of his new domain. And, as fate would have it, it probably doesn’t get much better than that in the cat world.
