Couple go viral for only spending $500 on their WEDDING.

A thrifty bride who was determined to keep her wedding cost under $500 has disclosed how she pulled off an exceptionally affordable party by wearing a $47 gown on the big day and requesting guests to pay for their own food.

After Joel Brokenbrough of Los Angeles proposed to Kiara in December of last year, the couple promised to keep their wedding day “as simple as possible.”

After trying on a range of $1,500 gowns at a bridal boutique, the bride settled on a $47 gown from budget-friendly fashion company Shein, which she subsequently revealed in a now-viral TikTok video. The love birds revealed  how guests paid for their own meals and gifted the couple flowers and a cake for the big day, uncovering: ‘You have a wedding, with witnesses there to witness you, vowing to your spouse, vowing to God that you guys are going to stay together for life. You then celebrate with food, beverages, and dancing. And that is just what we accomplished.’

The pair got engaged in December of last year and planned the budget day in less than two months. Kiara said on her Instagram page, that this wasn’t the wedding of her dreams. But yes she made the best of what they had. She wasn’t going into debt or extending the day to save enough for strangers and individuals who didn’t know anything about their connection to dine and drink at their expense. They weren’t aiming to please anyone, but rather to worship God. She concluded that she feels this is the origin of what a wedding ceremony is—you, your partner, witnesses, and God.

Kiara added that the pair had never intended to create the largest wedding possible. Their aim was to be as basic as possible and to spend the least amount of money imaginable. A lot of people gave them gifts; her godmother gave them flowers, her sister gave them a runner, and her godsister gave them a cake. The bride went bridal gown shopping for the first time in January, trying on dresses ranging in price from $500 to $1,500. She immediately realised, yet, that she preferred to keep her budget as minimal as possible.

She finally settled on a gown for $47 on the website of digital fashion shop Shein. She later shared her dress-shopping adventure on TikTok, comparing gorgeous dresses in the store to her low-cost gown. She stated that she didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a dress since she had the idea that she would just wear it once for a few hours. Meanwhile, the beautiful bride said how she managed to find a ceremony beside a motorway, and friends graciously gave the flowers and runner as a present. Guests afterwards paid for their own food during the reception. She added the guests they had there truly comprehended the task, they got what they were attempting to achieve, and they really backed us.

After their wedding ceremony, they all migrated to Mistys Lounge to celebrate, she posted on Instagram. They  ate, drank, and danced (exactly as in biblical times).’ The bride expressed that it felt so lovely to be with individuals who actually supported them and weren’t expecting to be amused. Without the donations of their family and close friends, they would not have been able to pull this off. It takes a village, and for them a community came through.

Watch the video and share this beautiful story of celebrating your wedding on a minimal budget is too wonderful a thing to do.
