During the fourth week of Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, who stood in her own defense and blamed the actor of serial sexual assaults, there was no scarcity of heated moments.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is suing his ex-wife for $50 million in retaliation for an op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post in 2018 in which she referred to herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse.”
Although the article did not name Depp, his agent, Jack Whigham, claimed that the damage on his profession has been “catastrophic.”
According to his team, Depp, who was previously one of the highest-paid performers in the world, can no longer secure a major movie job.
Heard, 36, has countersued Depp, 58, and his former attorney for $100 million, blaming them of colluding to “destroy and discredit” her.

The trial was slated to continue May 16 after a one-week break, with Heard resuming to the witness stand in the Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse in Virginia.
Johnny Depp allegedly raped Amber Heard with an alcohol bottle.
In March 2015, the couple had recently married, and Heard travelled to Australia to visit Depp while he was filming “Pirates 5”. Depp was high and inebriated, she told jurors, and reportedly battered and sexually attacked her for three days.
Depp purportedly tore off her nightgown, dragged her over shattered glass, and struck her repeatedly.
She told the jury that at some point, he’ll be on top of her. She was staring into his eyes, and could not recognise him. She never felt so terrified in her life. The next thing she knew was being leaned over on the bar, her breast raised, and something inside of her.
She felt he was going to hit her and could feel the pressure. She felt this pressure on her pubic bone. Johnny had the bottle inside of her and was pushing it inside of her again and over again,” she claimed, while threatening to murder her.
She glanced around and noticed all of the shattered glass on the floor and wasn’t sure if the bottle he had inside of her was shattered,” she explained.
Elaine Bredehoft, Heard’s lawyer, handed him a snapshot of two empty vodka bottles. As Depp’s purported weapon, she recognized one that seemed to be Maker’s Mark whiskey.
Depp has blamed Heard of being the abuser, telling jurors that she threw a vodka bottle at him, smashing and severing his finger. In her testimony, she indicated that Depp sliced his own fingertip while hitting a wall-mounted phone.
Photos of the considerable damage to the property following the horrific blowup were displayed to jurors, showing a blood-smeared sofa, destroyed paintings, and broken glass strewn on the floors.
Other claimed sexual attacks occurred during their poisonous relationship, according to the actress.
Jurors are shown photographs of Amber Heard with two black eyes.
Jurors were shown images of Amber Heard with two black eyes, a cracked lip, and what she said was a broken nose following a savage battle at the couple’s Los Angeles residence in December 2015.
Heard affirmed that she assumed this was how she was going to die. She felt he is going to murder her. She said Depp attacked her and headbutted her repeatedly during the alleged Dec. 15 assault, which left her with two injured eyes.
She claimed he reportedly pulled her to their bed, kneeled on her back, and pressed her head into the mattress while ranting, he hates her. During the battle, the bed shattered.
She told the jury that she recalled attempting to shout but being unable to do so. In this pillow top, she was suffocating. She blacked out and arose when she heard her dearest companion’s voice.
The photographs also revealed a clump of hair on the floor, which she said Depp plucked out, spilt wine, and an odd message scribbled with a Sharpie marker on the tabletop.
Depp ‘loathed James Franco,’ Heard gives testimony.
Heard said that Depp was often blaming her for having an affair with her co-star James Franco. S he said to the jury it was like a nightmare.
Heard and Franco appeared together in “Pineapple Express,” and in 2014, Heard began filming “Adderall Diaries” with him, which enraged Depp.
She explained he was upset with her for taking the job.He despised James Franco.”
Heard said Depp lost it on a private airplane from Boston to Los Angeles after filming a sex scene with Franco. She stated, she continued asking her whether she loved it and if she was wet in front of his friends and security.
He allegedly kicked, slapped, and castigated her before passing out on the floor of the plane’s washroom. Heard depicted Depp as envious and controlling.
Heard was at risk of ‘lethal domestic violence,’ according to a psych specialist.
Dr. Dawn Hughes, a defense expert, told jurors that Depp assaulted Heard and put her in danger. He threatened to murder her with fatal domestic violence. She stated t he degree of the abuse, the forced sexual activity, the strangling conduct, his obsessive jealously, the element of control, and his threat to commit suicide – to kill himself were factors that played into this assurance.
“This means a woman is more vulnerable to more serious, deadly domestic abuse,” Hughes testified. According to the forensic psychologist, Heard suffered from PTSD as a result of “intimate relationship assault.”
Depp’s ex-op-ed wife’s cost him $40 million: accountant
On Tuesday, Depp’s side brought forensic accountant Michael Spindler as its final witness before handing over the stage to Heard. He told jurors that the actor lost $40 million in revenues between Oct. 18, 2018 and Oct. 31, 2020 as a result of the op-ed calling him an abuser.
Three days after the article appeared on the front page of the Washington Post, Disney told Depp that he would not be reprising his role as Jack Sparrow in the sixth “Pirates” film, resulting in a $22.5 million loss minus agent’s charges.
Based on his earnings in 2017, the “Black Mass” star also missed out on other prospective movie opportunities and sponsorships.
During cross-examination, Spindler admitted that he did not consider if anything other than the op-ed may have resulted in income loss, such as Depp’s lawsuit against The Sun tabloid in London for labelling him a “wife-beater.”
Depp made around $459 million between 2009 and 2019.
Heard gave Depp a bruised eye:security guard.
Bodyguard Travis McGivern testified to jurors that he witnessed Heard hit Depp in the face as he attempted to separate them during a chaotic altercation in Los Angeles on March 23, 2015.
Heard had previously thrown a can of Red Bull at Depp, striking him in the back, and spat and yelled at him. He was the first witness to testify throughout the trial that Heard had been physical with Depp.
McGivern stated he witnessed a closed fist contact with Mr. Depp in the left side of his face.
The hit left Depp with a “shiner,” according to McGivern, who suggested they leave right afterwards. Jurors were given photographs of Depp’s wounds taken by another safety officer after the quarrel.
He explained he let Depp get struck by a Red Bull can and punched. His responsibility is to guarantee his clients safety and well-being, and he felt like he hadn’t done that.
Heard admits to decking Depp during the incident, but only after he shoved her sister, Whitney Heard.
It’s heartbreaking to see such a beautiful marriage shattered with all the heated arguments. No one knows the truth except Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
I Hope the matter is resolved soon.
