Kevin Costner, who played John Dutton in the television program “Yellowstone,” is 68 today. He has established himself as a power to reckon with in the acting world throughout the years. Kevin was even nominated for an Oscar for his directorial abilities, and in addition to “Yellowstone,” he appeared in a number of critically praised films.
Kevin is an A-list actor who also thrives as a family man. He married twice in his life, first to Cindy Silva, with whom he had Anni Costner, Lily Costner, and Joe Costner. He later dated Bridget Rooney, with whom he had a son named Liam Costner.
Kevin married his second and current wife, Christine Baumgartner, in 2004. Cayden Wyatt, Logan Hayes, and Grace Avery are Kevin and Christine’s three kids. Though he is the proudest parent and cherishes all seven of his children, the path to fatherhood was not without challenges.
After his first marriage ended in divorce, the actor was hesitant to have additional kids. He and Cindy separated in 1994, and he had a brief romance after that that did not work out. Kevin was in his forties when he met Christine, and he wasn’t certain if he wanted any more children.
Kevin was doubting himself and his parenting abilities at the moment. His age made matters worse because he was unsure if he would be a suitable father. However, Christine desired kids, and if Kevin had not agreed to have kids, things might not have worked out with them.
Fortunately, the actor came to his senses, and it all worked out in the end. Christine was ecstatic when he proposed and informed her he wanted kids with her, and the couple married in 2004.
Kevin and Christine had their first kid, Cayden, in 2007, when he was 52 years old. Kevin had worked out most of his concern about having more children by the time Caydon arrived, and all he desired was to be the best father he could be.
Despite his reservations, Kevin quickly adapted to the position of parent. He recognized he appreciated being a father as soon as his children arrived, and he made his three children his first focus.
With Kevin’s hectic schedule as an actor, singer, and director, it’s easy to believe he doesn’t have much time for his family. He mentioned that he spends any free time he has with his cherished family.
He discussed his parenting philosophy, emphasizing the importance of spending time with your children. He feels that through being active in their lives and developing comfortable connections, parents may teach their children important life skills.
Considering his celebrity and accolades, Kevin revealed that his children are simply like any other “regular” kid. He joked that he can tell when they try to go around their mother’s control by coming to him anytime she says no to something.
Kevin is now perfectly content with his family-oriented lifestyle. He enjoys spending time with his children, and being a father has enabled him to expand his perspective on the world and his position in it.
Kevin and Christine stated that they typically split parental responsibilities. Kevin says he isn’t the best cook in the world, but he has mastered breakfast. And, while he is in charge of the morning meals, Christine is in charge of their children’s education. She oversees Cayden, Hayes, and Grace’s homeschooling.
