Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are set to square off in court again. The multi-million dollar defamation trial starts Monday in Fairfax County, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C.
The estranged couple’s bitter divorce is about to make headlines all over the world again, as Depp is suing Heard for defamation in an opinion essay when she professed to be a victim of domestic abuse. A number of celebrities will be involved, with numerous well-known figures expected to testify.
Elon Musk, the billionaire tycoon who was romantically related to Heard, is one of the witnesses, as are actors James Franco, Paul Bettany, and Ellen Barkin. While their relationship began shortly after Heard and Depp’s divorce, Musk has stated that they started dating after the stars filed for divorce. Meanwhile, Musk is reportedly close to acquiring Twitter in a $46 billion purchase that would see the firm delisted from the stock exchange and governed privately.
Bettany, a buddy of Depp’s and the star of WandaVision, is set to testify about text conversations he had with Depp concerning Heard.
Meanwhile, Franco is anticipated to be questioned about his previous connection with the actress.
Delegates from Disney and Warner Bros. will take the stand, as will representatives from the ACLU, the LAPD, and at least one nurse.
