After a vehicle went too near and clipped the lead rider, a group of cyclists fell on the shoulder of a major road.
Footage from the 2020 collision, which occurred on the shoulder of the road in Shortland, Newcastle, has been re-shared online.
The ‘dreadful’ footage depicts a grey Honda clipping one of the riders’ arm when the group was traveling at a high pace in the 90km/h zone.
The biker then crashed to the ground, tripping the cyclist next to him and caused a pile-up in the group behind him. This accident can only be characterized as terrifying. It is extremely fortunate that there were no life-threatening wounds or deaths.
A apparently inattentive driver forcibly disrupted a club group ride on a gorgeous morning.
According to the post, authorities were alerted of the crash, and two of the riders were sent to the hospital for testing, while others experienced a severe rash.
According to cops, a 31-year-old male was fined $464 and docked three demerit points.
