Grief is an unavoidable aspect of life that everyone will face at some time in their lives. However, losing a loved one, particularly a kid, is one of the most traumatic situations someone can go through. The grief is more profound, the mourning phase is more difficult to manage, and the trauma is more severe.
Sadly, the Phillips family of South Carolina understands this firsthand, having just had to grieve the death of a 12-year-old family member.
The young kid, known as Hagen Phillips, died in one of the most horrific circumstances, putting his family in great distress. Here are the specifics of the entire tale.
On October 9, 2022, Hagen and his three friends were having an usual day, but it would finish with the four of them battling for their lives in the hospital.
On that terrible day, the four friends were riding an ATV vehicle down South Carolina’s Old Lowndesville Highway, having a great time, when the unimaginable occurred.
The four-wheeler crashed with a pickup vehicle at the crossroads of Cemetery Road and the Highway at 4:53 p.m.
The four children from Starr-Iva Middle School were severely injured as a result of the mishap. They were brought to the hospital right away to obtain proper care.
Crystal Rich, a family spokeswoman, then created a GoFundMe to gather money for Hagen’s medical costs. Rich mentioned on the website that the Phillips family wanted assistance since Hagen’s parents were in the hospital and couldn’t work.
Rich also noted that Hagen had six other siblings that needed to be cared after by his parents, thus the necessity for help.

Fortunately, well-meaning people were moved by the narrative and gave to the cause. Sadly, their contributions were insufficient to save the sixth grader.
The 12-year-old died from his wounds on October 12, 2022, after being on a ventilator for days. Hagen’s grandma, Lisa Brown Phillips, announced his death on Facebook after his death. She stated that their family did not receive the miracle they had hoped for. Their beloved Hagen Michael has gone to be with the Lord. They urge that one respect their family at this difficult time and simply pray for them all.

Aside from the Phillips family, the educators at Starr-Iva Middle School were devastated by Hagen’s death. The school’s principal, Adam Coats, said in a statement that everybody was devastated.
Hagen, he said, was a lovely youngster who was constantly full of joy. He made individuals laugh, exuded wonderful energy, and was adored by many because of his influence on their lives. Coats went on to say his friends adored him, as did others who didn’t know him but got to know him.
Similarly, Anderson District 3, which oversees Hagen’s school, was not overlooked. The district stated in a statement that the young boy’s death was a tragic tragedy.
