Five children, including the 16-year-old driver, were slain in a terrible midnight automobile accident in New York.
Police in Scarsdale, New York, said the children were driving on the Hutchinson River Parkway early Sunday morning when their Nissan Rogue collided with a tree and caught fire.
Five children, ages 8 to 17, were killed in the incident, but a 9-year-old kid survived and was brought to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The 9-year-old was seated in the hatchback/cargo area at the time of the incident and was able to escape via the rear of the vehicle, according to cops.
Authorities were able to identify that the vehicle’s probable driver was a 16-year-old. The four male victims and one female victim were all from Connecticut.
The mishap, which occurred at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, was a single-car accident, according to authorities.
Authorities were unable to determine where the car was coming from or heading, and the incident is still being investigated.
