Flight Attendant Hits Back At Rude Passenger After He Made Her Colleague Cry: ‘I Am Not Your Servant’

Typically, airlines strive to deliver the greatest services to their customers in order for them to have a positive experience and choose them in the future. However, things may go wrong at times, resulting in odd circumstances that can be quite unpleasant for everyone concerned. In late 2022, a similar situation occurred on an IndiGo aircraft.

An ugly altercation broke out aboard aircraft 6E-12 from Istanbul to Delhi on December 16, 2022. A female IndiGo flight attendant urged a male customer not to point his finger at her or yell at her after he allegedly made her crew members weep.

A video of the fight in the air shows that the female employee tried to talk to the unidentified passenger. Another woman who worked for the airline stood behind her and did everything she could to comfort her after the sad event.

In the video, the passenger can be heard asking the flight attendant, “Why are you yelling?” “Because you’re yelling at us,” she said. She continued, standing firm, saying that she is sorry, sir, but he cannot speak to the crew in that manner. She is calmly listening to him with all due respect, but he must also respect the staff.

When the man asked how he had been rude to the staff, he was told that he should not have pointed his finger at them. When he yelled, the fight erupted, with him yelling “shut up!” at the flight attendant, to which she replied, “You shut up! I’m sorry you cannot talk to me like that… I’m an employee, I am not your servant.”

Immediately after, the female airline worker put her face mask, turned around, and exited, followed by her colleague. Several other passengers watched the whole incident and were perplexed as to how things went so wrong.

According to an IndiGo spokesperson, the unfortunate encounter happened over meals selected by a customer going through a codeshare link. They said that the airline was dedicated to offering a polite and hassle-free service to its passengers, who were always their first objective.

Furthermore, the airline’s representative said that the situation will be thoroughly investigated. A deeper examination of the footage from the December event revealed that the disagreement arose over IndiGo’s food offerings.

According to the female flight attendant, only a certain quantity of meals were raised on the aircraft and served based on the guests’ boarding tickets. But, she was interrupted mid-sentence, causing tempers to boil and the conflict to intensify.

According to an Indian media site, the male customer requested a sandwich, and the staff assured him they would check to see whether it was available before he grew enraged and an airline employee began sobbing.

A video showing the disagreement in mid-air became viral on Twitter, garnering over 4.5 million views and over 17,000 likes. The event elicited varied reactions; however, many netizens rallied in favor of the aircraft attendant.
