If you bring around some wonderful smelling food, there’s a real good chance your dogs will be around in no time. Try it.
In Cumbria, England, miniature schnauzers Charlie and Theo got lost. And their owners, Liz and Graham Hampson, were really concerned about them. They had never gone missing before. They lost them while out walking and the fog got very thick, thick enough to the point where they could hardly see anything in front of them.
The couple soon organized a rescue campaign, and all their friends and family joined in to help find the missing dogs, which involved about 120 people. But the animals could not be located. Four days had passed with no trace of them. Then, finally, the couple had an idea. They decided to cook up some sausages, with that delightful aroma of cooked sausage, and put them near the spot where the dogs were last seen.
Says Liz: “They absolutely love sausages. They have them every Sunday for breakfast, so if there was one food they were going to come back for, it was sausages.”
They then started calling out their names. In a matter of minutes, their pet schnauzers came running through the trees and went right after those sausages. They might have been happy to see their owners too. Hard to tell. They were really busy eating. As far as their big four-day adventure?
Says Liz: They’ve told us nothing about what happened. I guess what goes on tour, stays on tour.”
