One day while heading to work, and running a little late, Dion Cole spotted someone throw a dog out of his truck and speed off. The image of that stuck with Dion, so the next day, he and his wife, Danielle, drove to the area to search for the dog.
When they found him, he was terrified of them, and it took them several days to get the animal to trust them enough to come to them. They then brought him to their home.
That’s when Danielle decided to post something to Facebook. It read: “To the dirtbag that threw his dog out in the Allegan forest on 48th street Friday at about 3:30pm. Let me tell you what your dog went through as you drove off.”
She went on to explain how the animal chased after him as it could go… until it just couldn’t go any more… and collapsed.
She told of how her husband watched it all, and how they looked for the dog the next day. And that it was waiting right where he was thrown out of the truck, waiting for his owner to return and take him back.
Danielle went on to say, “How could you throw your dog out like a piece of trash? This handsome little guy is so sweet and loving. He loves my kids… he likes my other dogs. I truly believe my husband was supposed to be running late that day so that he was able to see what you did. It’s just too bad he couldn’t get your plate number. You are a real scumbag and you will answer to what you did one day.”
Danielle then asked others to share her message, in hopes that the man she refers to would see it. In the meantime, Danielle and Dion are taking good care of that dog. And he’s safe. And he’s happy.
