Harley Telford, 15, discovered he had leukemia after experiencing unusual lumps and swellings over his body. Over the last five weeks, he has drastically lost weight. He was quickly diagnosed with leukemia, which was verified by a formal diagnosis.
When the adolescent lad first noticed these symptoms, he informed his mother, “I don’t want to die.” The boy’s relatives rushed him to the hospital when he became ‘white as a sheet.’ Telford, who was born in Belle Isle, West Yorkshire, is presently having treatment at Leeds General Infirmary after being diagnosed with leukemia.
Kris Millard, the kid’s 35-year-old stepfather, voiced sorrow over how the boy and his 41-year-old mother, Joanne, had suffered since his diagnosis. Harley is now battling chemo; he’s been ill and sleeping all day. He enjoys going out a lot, so it’s a dramatic shift for him, Kris explained.
When he discovered it, he started weeping and screaming he didn’t want to die and such things. They’re just trying to be optimistic for him, he continued. He said that to his mother in the hospital. They’re quite close. He’s around 6 feet tall, and she refers to him as her “big baby.” So she’s been crying every day.
Harley has a 19-year-old brother, Keiran, and a 17-year-old sister, Darcy, who are both shocked by their brother’s diagnosis. Shane, Harley’s biological dad, died three years ago from the same disease. According to Kris Millard, the doctors are sure that Harley can be healed and that he will be home in five months.
The family is gathering funds to cover the expense of Harley’s therapy, and they intend to give him a quad bike and take him on a vacation of his choice after he recovers. Kris, Harley’s stepfather, is a bricklayer, and he said on the GoFundMe campaign website- On Wednesday 19th of October they received the tragic news that Harley was diagnosed with leukemia. Harley is just 15 years old and is likely to stay in the hospital for 5 months. They are attempting to gather funds so that when Harley is fit and healthy, he will be able to treat himself and travel to a location of his choosing. Any remaining funds will be donated to Harley’s ward.
So far, the effort has raised almost £3,000, and the family intends to donate any remaining funds to the hospital ward where Harley is being treated.
Kris has also organized a hair-shaving fundraiser at Hunslet’s Garden Gate bar on November 12, where locals have pledged to shave their hair in solidarity of the kid, who will ultimately lose his hair due to chemo.
