Ultimately, Bennifer 2.0 responded, “I do.”
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, who obtained a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada on Saturday, July 16, are now husband and wife.
In her newsletter, On The J.Lo, Lopez published a number of images and videos from the couple’s wedding, confirming the information. She signed her message as “Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck,” using his last name.
She expressed that they succeeded. Love is lovely. Love is nice. Love, it turns out, is a patient thing. 20 years of patience. What they desired, precisely. They took a plane to Vegas last night, where they waited in line for a license with four other couples who had also traveled to the city known as the “Wedding Capital of the World.” Two males stood behind us, holding hands and cuddling. A young couple was standing in front of us, having driven the three hours from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday. They all shared the same desire: for the world to acknowledge them as partners and to publicly announce their love through the traditional and essentially universal institution of marriage.
She further added that by midnight, they had just about arrived at the little, white wedding church. They kindly stayed open later than expected for a little while and allowed them to take photographs in a pink Cadillac convertible that was reportedly previously driven by the king himself. So, in the small chapel, they recited their own vows, gave each other the rings they’ll wear for the rest of their lives, and had the finest witnesses one could ever want for. They also used a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet. Even for a short march down the aisle, they had Bluetooth. But in the end, it turned out to be the most perfect wedding they could have hoped for. One that they had imagined for a very, very long time and was finally realized in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible, and one another.
She continued that the only thing that counts in a marriage when love is genuine is the vows one makes to one another to love, care, respect, be patient, gentle, and kind to one another. She added that they had it. And a whole lot more. Their best night ever. She appreciated the Little White Wedding chapel allowing her to change in the break room while Ben did so in the men’s facility.
All one needs is love, as they said, and they were correct. They are very appreciative to have that in plenty, a new, lovely family of five incredible kids, and a life with so much to look forward to. She concluded that if one hung around long enough, one could discover the finest moment of their life with their kids and the person one would spend the rest of their life with in a drive-through in Las Vegas at 2:30 in the morning in the tunnel of love drive-through. Love is a wonderful thing and possibly the nicest thing ever and it’s worth waiting for.
The couple originally met in 2002 while shooting on the movie “Gigli,” and their journey to the wedding has been a lengthy one. Soon after filming was over, Lopez, who was then wedded to actor Cris Judd, filed for divorce. However, Jennifer revealed that Ben had nothing to do with her divorce from Cris and that she had never been romantically connected with him.
However, she and Ben soon began dating, and by November 2002, they were engaged. Before the two actors starred in “Jersey Girl” together in 2004 Affleck subsequently had an appearance in J.Lo’s “Jenny from the Block” music video. But, they broke off their engagement in January of the same year.
Following her breakup with Affleck by only five months, Lopez eventually wed Marc Anthony. Before finally divorcing in 2011, she and Marc welcomed twins Max and Emme in 2008. She then dated Casper Smart and Alex Rodriguez, with whom she later got married in April 2021 after a two-year engagement. She then rekindled her romance with Ben, and by April 2022, they were engaged.
Between 2005 and 2018, Ben was married to Jennifer Garner, with whom he had 3 kids: son Samuel, daughters Violet and Seraphina, and daughter Violet.
