Actor Johnny Depp’s time on the court room stand continuous with a re-direct from his personal legal group following cross-questioning by Amber Heard’s. Depp’s text communications to actor Paul Bettany once again got the attention.
Previous week, 2013 texts between the two were read out loud in court of law in which Depp said “Let’s drown her before we burn her!!! will f— her burnt corpse afterward to make sure she’s dead.”
Depp said on Monday that the two glued over their arid sense of comedy and said none of it was planned to be actual. While Depp said that he was embarrassed the linguistic used in his text. Depp said the quotation marks in question were straight from ‘Monty Python’ and the sketch about burning sorceresses and then drowning them.
Depp further claimed that quotes were from a film we’d all watched when we were 10 and it’s just disrespectful and nonconcrete comedy. That’s what they were mentioning to in those texts messages. Depp also claimed Heard hated Bettany, saying his ex-wife was really envious of their bond and describing Paul and Amber’s relationship as repulsive.
Depp began saying that they had turn into such close friends and for her he was a threat and would take him away from her, in regard to, if Paul Bettany was getting the consideration from him that was a show-stopper. He then added that it would cause all kinds of awkwardness before going into a supposed event that went down at Depp’s secluded isle in the Bahamas.
Depp continued that they were on the isle with Bettany, his wife and his four children. Amber and Bettany got into some dispute over lunch and he just recall that every time Bettany tried to make a point, Amber would talk over him and then it started to get rather impolite. He added that Amber got nasty and flamboyant.
He further continued and claimed that it was his 18-year-old boy, who then got into the discussion just for the reason that it was rather something to do with what he studied in school and knew a lot about it and spoken his view. Depp further said that Amber degraded that young man to the point where he spurt into tears and walked away.
It was at that point Depp had spoken to Amber and said that it is just unacceptable and she has no right to humiliate that boy. Deep said to Amber that she cannot constantly be correct and she should try being wrong occasionally because she might acquire to some degree. Depp claimed he then told Amber that it would be best that she leave the isle.
Bettany’ is also predictable to take the stand during the on-going hearing. In an interview in February 2022, Bettany said that he didn’t know Johnny when he was wedded to Amber. Bettany said that he knew Depp beforehand but they hadn’t spoken for years. He said that he did not know them during their wedding so he was not around for any of that.
Depp and Heard were wedded in 2015 and the texts in question are from 2013.
Depp is looking for $50 million in compensations after Amber claimed she was a survivor of domestic exploitation in an op-ed in the WaPo in 2018. While Amber didn’t name Depp in the article, but his attorneys dispute it was indirect to be about him and damagingly affected his acting profession.
Amber countersued Depp for $100 million.
Depp has already lost a previous court case he took in the UK over the same article. The total course of the trial is expected to as long as six weeks.
